While this is primarily an antique doll and teddy bear show, there are a number of items available that are well suited to BJD. We love digging for eyes, wigs, shoes, and elastic. And if you sew – there’s TONS of great deals on antique and vintage fabrics and lace!

We will also have a number of items for sale – both handmade and company-made.

Naperville Doll Show, June 2014

Several others from the forum usually come & go throughout the day, but there will at least be a few of us available all day. Come hang out! 😀

We’re back!

Back in April, my entire hosting account was hacked and overwritten. Talk about crazy! Every single file – GONE. All the coding files – GONE. All my pictures – GONE.

I didn’t have any back ups – my laptop died and both of my external hard drives crapped out on me. When I contacted my hosting company about it, they didn’t have any back ups. Great hosting company they are.. *sigh*

I was in the middle of prepping for Anime Central in mid-May, and my first priority was getting ChitownDollz back up and running. Resin Melody had to wait…. but only until today! (Woot!)

I was lucky enough that I had previously considered switching over to using Blogger for my blogging platform, so some of my stuff was backed up. There will still be missing images and broken links throughout the past posts, but at least some of the information, posts, and pictures were saved!

Previous Loves – Kohana

Kohana was an OrientDoll So Ji. She was my 2nd doll, and way smaller than I had anticipated!

She was purchased on the second-hand market, and was super adorable.

Unfortunately, I was not thrilled with her posing abilities so I did not do a whole lot with her. She was also very difficult to sew for due to her size.

Volks Mamu

Previous Loves – Brownie

I absolutely fell in love with Volks Yo-Tenshi Mamu when she was originally released. Unfortunately, she was nearly impossible to obtain without paying a very high mark up, and was just out of my price range.

Volks then released a Sweet Dream version and I was fortunate enough to find one for sale on the secondary market. <3

Brownie was on the angel body, and while I normally had her as a girl, she made such an adorable boy as well.

As much as I loved the sweet dream Mamu, I think I would like to eventually get an original YoTenshi Mamu with the open eyes.

College Savings Dolls

A friend of mine had a fantastic idea of creating dolls with realistic proportions for girls to play with. Not only are the dolls part of the play, but the idea behind it all is also promoting saving for their college education.

College Savings Dolls says it best right on their website. One doll with two big ideas!

I’m honored to have been asked to create some of the career clothing and additional outfits as prototypes. Unfortunately, these first rounds of clothing need to be done this week – so it’s going to be a fairly quick turn around.

I’m hoping I can use some of my existing patterns for BJDs, but if not, at least I can modify them. 🙂 Look for pictures later in the week – hoping for a few quick pieces to be whipped up.

In the mean time – a couple quick pictures of the dolls themselves. Loving them and I totally can’t wait to see them for sale on the market!
