Previous Loves – Dante

A friend of mine and I had decided to split a Too & Bee-A set from Dream of Doll a few years ago. She wanted the Bee-A so I ended up with the Too.

I have to admit – I was not thrilled about getting the Too. I am much more interested in girl dolls and took him begrudgingly. Honestly enough, he became one of my favorite dolls. Unfortunately, I sold him before I realized it.

He was also the first doll I did a faceup on. It was very basic, but a lot of fun. 🙂

At this point, though, I will not be getting another one. I did not have a good experience with Dream of Doll right after I received my Too.

You see, 2 days after I received him, I woke up in the morning to his hand laying on the floor – the resin bar in his wrist had broken. It took many pictures, nearly 4 weeks, and a Korean-speaking friend before I even got a response. It took another month before I got a replacement hand, and the hands were a completely different color!

For a company to have that terrible of customer service – I cannot support them. So even though buying a doll second-hand is purchasing from somebody else – that would still be supporting them in my opinion.

The issues aside – I do love the Too sculpt. And I have been on the hunt for a little while for a replacement. So cute!

Volks Dollfie World Cup!

Volks Dollfie World Cup 2013

I found out about this about a week ago, and I would LOVE to join it!

Unfortunately, the stars have not aligned for me on this one – but maybe for someone else I know? I would love to see Head #02 in person. Talk about adorable! And Head #01 is totally a School A/Lucas/Chris/that-whole-family base. LOVE IT!

Long story short…

Volks is running a faceup contest internationally.

You can buy up to 2 each of their event heads, do the faceups, and submit for a chance to have your faceup in the qualification round held in Japan! WOOHOO!

All of the initial contest entries are due by April 30.

Definitely enough time to get the head & crank out a couple faceups. Honestly, I love doing faceups on the Volks dolls. Love the resin. Love the sculpts. So easy to paint. And at only $206 each, it’s really not a bad price for a Volks head.

Ah well – maybe next time. In the mean time, check it out for more info!

Luts Cutie Delf Cory

Previous Loves – Hanna

I have decided to start a series of posts showcasing dolls I have previously owned & loved before.

Hanna was a modded Sleeping Cutie Delf Cory by Luts. She is one that I go back & forth on whether or not I would buy her back if I saw her for sale.

Cutie Delfs were Luts’ original tiny dolls before the Honey Delfs. They had a one-piece, genderless (“Angel”) torso and were single jointed. There were only 2 different face sculpts made – Mary and Cory.

They were very cute, child-like sculpts with chubby little bodies. <3 So cute!
