We had a fantastic Mitsuwa meet on September 27! So fun to see all the great dolls 😀
I was only able to get pics of a few that attended (sorry for those I missed!).
I forgot how much I like doing face ups! I was able to finish a few over the past week or so and I can honestly say, I think I want to get back to doing them on a more regular basis <3
I did a face up on a friend’s Dollshe boy (Ebony Bernard). His lips came out super shiny which makes him look über feminine. But his owner loves him so I left it. If I get the chance, I may do a quick spray of ZM spray to lessen the shine.
The same owner also had me do a face-up on his relatively obscure RML 01. Real Missing Link dolls are pretty hard to find now, but I love them! Love this guy!
I was also able to finish up my modded ResinSoul Song. I got him in a trade quite some time ago with the intent of cleaning him up and selling him. Now, I’m not so sure… he’s so stinkin’ cute!
OMG I just received my MaskCat girls – tan Ceci & tan Aruna on Friday.. They are so stinkin’ adorable! And it’s a good thing, too, because our post office seriously sucks.
Fabric Friends and Dolls was not to blame at all. Iris addressed the package correctly, but our post office didn’t want to give it up.
BUT I have the girls now, and s’all good! Wootwoot! 😀
I originally ordered the girls with 2 different eyes – one pair in green and one pair in a gray-blue. I received a pair in a gorgeous dark blue in lieu of the green ones. While slightly disappointing, I really can’t complain since they are still beautiful.
On Saturday, we were supposed to get together at a friend’s place for a sewing day. Unfortunately, she had a power outage due to bad storms Friday night. So instead of sewing, I did the girls’ faceups.
I haven’t touched my faceup supplies (other than moving them, of course) in over 2 years! o.O
Actually, I don’t think they came out too bad. Not their final faceups, but good enough for now. 🙂
Aand, I completely forgot how much I enjoy doing faceups.
ChitownDollz hosted a meet up at the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago on Saturday.
It was a pretty small turn-out (ok, it was a pretty dismal turn-out – there were 2 of us), but it was actually for the better.
Unbeknownst to us, the conservatory has been undergoing maintenance and half of it was closed – including the Palm House and the Desert (Arid) House. How disappointing!
We did, however, have a family of siblings come over to explore our BJDs. They ranged in age from about 2 to 11. They were wonderful kids – absolutely precious! They loved how posable the dolls are, and how the hair is all wigs. And the older brother did such a great job wrangling in the younger ones when needed.
After the kids left, we walked around for a short while before we decided to head out to Oak Brook to have some coffee and chit-chat.
It was such a good time being able to catch up with a good friend.
I was a bit lazy, though, and didn’t get very many pictures.. Actually, I only took 3 pictures during the entire day. Talk about slacking!
The next meet up, I need to make sure I do better. 😛
So I broke down and put both a tan Ceci and tan Aruna on layaway with Fabric Friends & Dolls.
Iris is absolutely wonderful to work with – I was able to put the girls on a 5-month layaway! Wow!
Since the girls are both tan-skin, I opted to go for the brown wigs instead of the gold/blonde.
Ceci should be coming with beautiful green (Prasinous) eyes:
And Aruna should be coming with gorgeous gray-blue (Bice) eyes:
I’m so excited!!
I’m not sure I’ll be able to wait that long, but at least I know these 2 girls are coming home to me. <3
Hopefully it won’t take the full 5 months to pay them off! *fingers crossed*
