Garfied Conservatory – August 16

ChitownDollz hosted a meet up at the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago on Saturday.

It was a pretty small turn-out (ok, it was a pretty dismal turn-out – there were 2 of us), but it was actually for the better.

Unbeknownst to us, the conservatory has been undergoing maintenance and half of it was closed – including the Palm House and the Desert (Arid) House. How disappointing!

We did, however, have a family of siblings come over to explore our BJDs. They ranged in age from about 2 to 11. They were wonderful kids – absolutely precious! They loved how posable the dolls are, and how the hair is all wigs. And the older brother did such a great job wrangling in the younger ones when needed.

After the kids left, we walked around for a short while before we decided to head out to Oak Brook to have some coffee and chit-chat.

It was such a good time being able to catch up with a good friend.

I was a bit lazy, though, and didn’t get very many pictures.. Actually, I only took 3 pictures during the entire day. Talk about slacking!

The next meet up, I need to make sure I do better. 😛

While I usually update new posts on Mondays, I thought it would be nice to update a little early this week…

We had our ChitownDollz Mitsuwa meet yesterday, and we had a great turn out! A HUGE “Thank you!!” to everyone who came!

We had so many people and fantastic dolls on display. 😀

I was able to take photos of most of the dolls we had there, but I know I missed a few – especially an adorable MysticKid MSD girl. <3

We have our next Mitsuwa meet up scheduled for August 23. In the mean time, we will be at the Dairyland Summer Meet in Madison, and we may have a ChitownDollz meet at the Garfield Conservatory in Chicago.
